Our New Wall Starts!

Our iconic front wall, a Belmont landmark (for sixty, seventy years?) was demolished today Sunday 27th May 2007 to make way for a totally new structure.

1: The old wall in 1965

The old wall was deemed unsafe, especially after the earthquakes of October 2006 that caused great cracks in several places.

2: Down and out

3: The shed too!

4: Protective fencing going up

Our new wall/waiting shed/mini cafeteria and sliding gate should be in place by the end of this term.
