INTER HOUSE COMPETION STARTS-TUG OF WAR!

On Tuesday 23rd September, and then today Friday 26th, the lunchtime intervals saw the school transformed to a Roman Coliseum as our four Houses, Bishop(red), Brown(blue), Loregnard(green), and Bernard(yellow) battled in the Tug of War competition in the yard.

1: The formidable Brian Brown House glares at their opponents...

Teams comprising one student from each form level, two male teachers and one female teacher pulled with great ferocity in front of the entire cheering school, providing the best entertainment since the Olympics!

2: Bernard House pulled mightily...

3: ...But Brown house beat them after a struggle...

4: Bishop House with the fearsome T&T National
Men's Discus champion Quincy Wilson anchoring at the back...

5:...were no match for the "science" of Mr. Alexander's Loregnard House!

When the dust settled, it was the scientifically prepared Loregnard team that annihilated the hitherto invincible Bishop outfit in six seconds in the finals...third place to Brown, fourth place to the fighting Bernard house.

6:Mr. Alexander of Loregnard consoles Quincy Wilson of Bishop from Form 5

7: A ferocious staff debate..accusations of doping with Red Bull and Cow Heel Soup!

8: House Unity!

This event kicked off our Inter House competitions that would straddle many disciplines, culminating in our Sports Day scheduled for THURSDAY 5TH MARCH 2009. Mark that day!

Home Grown Talent!

Today we continue our series of informative flashbacks through our school's history. The first photo, taken in the year 2000 shows our victorious U-15 Zonal School Athletics Champions.

Holding the trophy in the centre was one of the stars of our school team, a young gentleman and current national Olympic hero by the name of...Marc Burns!

The year was 1967, the place was the Queens Park Oval, and the event was the 800m final at our BBSS sports. The superb athlete on the left just pipping his second place rival was no other than Mr. Albert King, who is even more famous some 41 years after as our highly successful Athletics coach and esteemed senior member of our teaching staff today.
Just a small sample of the talent we continue to produce at BBSS!
